The MdM Mönchsberg has presided over the rooftops of the old town of Salzburg atop a steep rock face of Mount Mönchsberg since 2004. The interior of this puristically designed building offers ample space for exhibitions of 20th and 21st century art. Salzburg’s Museum der Moderne Mönchsberg (MdM) consists of two buildings in two spectacular locations: The Rupertinum is situated at the heart of the historic part of Salzburg and the museum is on Mount Mönchsberg. MdM Mönchsberg is also worth a visit simply to enjoy the sensational view across the old part of the town of Salzburg. The two MdM Salzburg buildings offer around 3000 m² of exhibition space for art from the 20th and 21st centuries. It is also the home of the Austrian photo gallery and features over 17,000 photographic works.
