From the Blue Danube to the White Glaciers

See it all! - Culture, art, and history in the main Austrian cities as well as the country’s most spectacular mountain sceneries.

Day 1: Arrival - Vienna

Arrive in Vienna where your tour manager could meet you at the airport and organize a transfer to your hotel.

Day 2: Sightseeing Tour

Enjoy a sightseeing tour with a local guide featuring the State Opera, Hofburg Palace, Parliament, the Town Hall, and the mighty gothic St. Stephens Cathedral. End the tour with an inside visit to the magnificent Schönbrunn Palace, the summer residence of the former Imperial Habsburg family. Reserve the rest of the day to relax or have coffee & cake at one of the numerous Viennese coffee houses.

Day 3: Salzburg

The motor on the fast highway to Salzburg, the hometown of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, where you will arrive at noon. After a short break, start your informative sightseeing tour, with a local guide, which will feature Salzburg’s architectural highlights such as the Cathedral, the Residence, and Mozart’s birth house located in the pedestrian zone Getreidegasse. End the tour with a visit to Hellbrunn Palace with its impressive trick fountains, a true expression of the Renaissance lifestyle.

Day 4: Alps Riding

A breathtaking ride over one of the most spectacular mountain roads of the Alps will bring you up to over 2500 m above sea level. Drive down to Zell am See from where your ascent will start. Many hairpin bends will lead you to the Franz Josef Höhe from where you can admire an unbelievable mountain panorama. If the weather permits, you will see Austria’s highest mountain, the Gross Glockner. Afterward, make your way down to Lienz, then on to the Italian border.

Enjoy mountainous scenery driving along the edge of the Dolomites. Climb up towards the Brenner Pass where you will cross into Austria again. A short drive now gets you to Innsbruck, twice the hometown of the Olympic Winter Games.

Day 5: Sightseeing Tour

In the morning, take part in the city sightseeing tour with local a guide. You will get to know the main sights of this Alpine capital such as the Golden Roof, the Triumphal Arch, and the Olympic Ski jump. In the afternoon, after a short drive to the small town of Wattens, you will visit the Crystal Worlds, a unique museum and exhibition of the world-famous crystal products of the Swarovski family.

Day 6: Stubaital Valley

A short drive through the wild, romantic Stubaital Valley will bring you to the station of the Cable Car leading in three stages up to the Stubai Glacier. You will reach an altitude of 3165 m above sea level and find yourself surrounded by the eternal ice of one of the largest glaciers of the Austrian Alps. Have a snowball fight or just lean back and enjoy the unforgettable views of over 100 peaks higher than 3000 meters of this unique mountainous scenery. Afterward, enjoy lunch at the Panorama Restaurant at 2900 m above sea level. Then start your descent again and continue back to Innsbruck.

Day 7: Lake Chiem

A comfortable journey via Lake Chiem in Bavaria (Germany) will take you first back to the shores of the Danube River for an inside visit and guided tour of Austria’s largest monastery, the Benedictine Abbey of Melk. Afterward, move on to Vienna.

Day 8: Departure

Say farewell to Austria before being transferred to the airport for your flight back home.
