Three Countries
Explore picturesque hills and lakes in Austria, Italy & Slovenia. Relax on a lakeside or visit ancient castles and spectacular mountains.
Day 1
Arrive at your hotel in Carinthia, where you stay for the next few days.
Day 2
This day starts with a trip to the town of Villach for a guided tour. In the afternoon, we recommend a trip along the Villach Alpine Road, which runs from Villach to Möltschach, and up to the Dobratsch Mountain (1732m). The fantastic panoramic views will amaze you, especially the Julian Alps and the prominent south face of the Dobratsch Mountain.
Day 3
Today we recommend a visit across the border to neighboring Slovenia and its capital Ljubljana, a dynamic Central European city where its geographical position has governed its past. The local guide will meet you there and will introduce you to the most prominent highlights of the city before you have some free time to explore it on your own or to do some shopping.
Day 4
Take your time today to discover the surrounding villages on your own.
Day 5
Today you will have the unique opportunity to contrast three countries visiting them - Austria, Italy, and Slovenia. Your first stop for some free time will be the Italian border town of Tarvisio. Then your journey continues via Planica, the home to one of the largest ski jumps in the world. Kranjska Gora in Slovenia, one of the most beautiful alpine resorts. Bled, where you can enjoy a wander around the lake or visit the castle. After some free time in Bled, you will return over the Wurzenpass to Austria.
Day 6
Transfer from your hotel to the airport. Departure.
Austria, one of Europe's most popular holiday destinations, attracts tourists year-round with places to visit in both summer and winter. In fact, with some of Europe's finest skiing, winter is almost as busy as summer in the country's spectacular mountain regions.
Once part of a vast European empire, Austria today still mirrors the richness of its past glories. Vienna has long shined as a beacon of classical music, architecture, art… and pastries. Salzburg was the birthplace of Mozart and is home to a whole lot of beautiful buildings. And even though it’s a big part of what makes Austria genuinely great, this landlocked country is much more than history and pretty architecture.
